About 18,000 units are subject to the recall in the United States.

No. Stop use of the recalled fan immediately.

Merkury Innovations is offering a full refund after successful registration. The value of the full refund is $30
Q: How do I participate in the recall?

Q: What will I have to do to successfully register?

All registrations require filling out a form with your name, address, and other information. You will also need a camera, a permanent marker, and scissors. You will be required to upload photographs of your recalled fan.

Important: Do not dispose of the product before you receive your confirmation email that your registration has been successfully approved.

Q: What do I have to write on the fan? What do I have to cut off using the scissors?

Using a permanent black marker, you must:

  • Write your initials on the fan.
  • Write the date on the fan.
  • Write the word "RECALLED" on the fan.
  • Take a clear photo showing the words you've written on the fan.

Next, unplug the product. Using scissors, safely cut the power cord. Take a clear photo showing the fan's cord cut off and the end of the cord that was cut.

Finally, upload these two photos and provide your personal information on the registration page.

If you do not follow these instructions, your registration will not be approved. Do not dispose of your fan until you receive an email confirming that your registration has been accepted. After your registration is confirmed, you will receive an email authorizing you to dispose of your fan.

Q: How long will it take to receive my refund?
After you receive the email confirming that your registration has been successful, you can expect to receive your refund within approximately 7–14 business days.
Q: How much money will I receive?

If you provide the original receipt of purchase, you will receive the full amount you paid for the fan.

If you do not have a receipt, you will receive $30. The refund will be provided via PayPal or a general gift card that may be used anywhere Visa is accepted.

Q: Are any other Merkury Innovations products being recalled?
No. No other Merkury Innovations products are included in this recall.
Q: Am I required to provide a receipt?
No.
Q: I do not have access to the internet or a camera.

All registrations require that a photograph be submitted. You can submit via email if you cannot use the web form. We can provide assistance and begin the registration process over the phone, but we cannot complete registrations without the registration photographs being submitted.

Q: I previously disposed of the product and I would like to receive a refund.

We are glad that you no longer have the product and that it no longer presents a risk to you or your family. This is the most important part of the recall.

At this time, we are only offering refunds to consumers in possession of the product in order to remove the recalled products from consumers' homes.
